インドネシア産のアワビの貝殻。貝殻の持つ美しい光沢をそのまま取り出して、ピアスに仕立てました。厚みのある部分を切り取った、有機的な形状が耳元に自然に馴染みます。食用によく知られるアワビですが、実は真珠も育みます。そのことからアワビの貝殻は「Mother of Pearl（真珠の母）」とも称されています。

また、その強靭な構造が注目されて、割れにくくて頑丈なセラミック開発のヒントにもなっているそうです。
